Two rank order tests for M-ary detection

چکیده
We consider a general -ary detection problem where, given groups of samples each, the problem is to identify which unique group of samples have come from the signal hypothesis. The optimal likelihood ratio test is unrealizable, when the joint distribution of samples is not completely known. In this paper we consider two rank order types of tests termed as the modified rank test (MRT) and the modified rank test with row sort (MRTRS). We examine through simulation, the small sample probability of error performances of MRT and MRTRS for detecting a signal among contaminants. Numerically computable closed –form error expressions are derived for some special cases. Asymptotic (large sample) error rate of MRT is also derived. The results indicate that MRTRS provides improved performance over other previously known rank tests.

On non-full-rank perfect codes over finite fields
The paper deals with the perfect 1-error correcting codes over a finite field with q elements (briefly q-ary 1-perfect codes). We show that the orthogonal code to the q-ary non-full-rank 1-perfect code of length n = (q − 1)/(q − 1) is a q-ary constant-weight code with Hamming weight equals to qm−1 where m is any natural number not less than two. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for...
متن کاملCool-lex order and k-ary Catalan structures
For any given k, the sequence of k-ary Catalan numbers, Ct,k = 1 kt+1 ( kt t ) , enumerates a number of combinatorial objects, including k-ary Dyck words of length n = kt and k-ary trees with t internal nodes. We show that these objects can be efficiently ordered using the same variation of lexicographic order known as cool-lex order. In particular, we provide loopless algorithms that generate ...
متن کاملRanking and Loopless Generation of k-ary Dyck Words in Cool-lex Order
A binary string B of length n = kt is a k-ary Dyck word if it contains t copies of 1, and the number of 0s in every prefix of B is at most k−1 times the number of 1s. We provide two loopless algorithms for generating k-ary Dyck words in cool-lex order: (1) The first requires two index variables and assumes k is a constant; (2) The second requires t index variables and works for any k. We also e...
متن کاملm-Ary Hypervector Space: Convergent Sequences and Bundle Subsets.
In this paper, we have generalized the definition of vector space by considering the group as a canonical $m$-ary hypergroup, the field as a krasner $(m,n)$-hyperfield and considering the multiplication structure of a vector by a scalar as hyperstructure. Also we will be consider a normed $m$-ary hypervector space and introduce the concept of convergence of sequence on $m$-ary hypernormed space...
متن کاملA new multi-step ABS model to solve full row rank linear systems
ABS methods are direct iterative methods for solving linear systems of equations, where the i-th iteration satisfies the first i equations. Thus, a system of m equations is solved in at most m ABS iterates. In 2004 and 2007, two-step ABS methods were introduced in at most [((m+1))/2] steps to solve full row rank linear systems of equations. These methods consuming less space, are more compress ...
